No Thanksgiving is complete without our annual Erickson Turkey Trot!
The cool part for this year's trot is that Karianna joined me! The other kids didn't seem all that interested, so Jared just stayed home with them-I kind of wanted to share Karianna's first real turkey trot with her, just as mother and daughter. Karianna has been practicing for the Turkey Trot for the last month or so. Not that she needed to learn to ride a bike, she just wanted to make sure she was braking well enough to go on main streets. Of course, she was just fine to go and off we went for the 6 mile bike ride!It was so fun to just chat with Karianna as we rode through the neighborhoods-she has wonderful insights and it is a pleasure for me to hang out with her. She definitely got a bit tired during the last 3 miles, especially since part of it is a slow uphill ride. However, she hung in there and made it the entire way, only stopping for lights and the midway drink breaks. She did such a good job, I was so proud of her! Hopefully next year we can add JD to the mix!
