Are you in there?

JD has gotten very interested in pregnancy, labor, delivery, and all things baby.  During one of our many conversations, he was asking me why I had long scratches on my belly.  I explained they were stretch marks because James was stretching my skin out.  JD looked very worried until I assured him it didn't hurt-it just made me look like a tiger.  He thought that was great!  He very gently traced one with his finger and stopped near my belly button.  He leaned in very close so his eye was about 6 inches away, stared straight into my belly button, and softy whispered, "Are you in there?"  I couldn't help laughing because it was so innocent-JD wasn't saying that for anyone's benefit-he really wondered!
