Karianna got her eyeglasses!
She went to a pediatric opthamologist over spring break. She had been saying the board in her classroom was a bit fuzzy and that her eyes were itchy/watery a lot. I took her in and sure enough, we found out she is slightly near-sighted; not terrible, but enough to need corrective measures. Karianna got fitted for glasses right there in the office (thank goodness for insurance that covers it!) and we picked them up just a few days ago. As soon as Karianna put them on, I couldn't help but exlaim at how cute she looked! Her glasses look like they were made for her-like, why hasn't she ben wearing glasses her whole life????? She loves them as well, and she immediately started saying how much better things looked. She will only need to wear them in the classroom or at church, movies, things were she needs to see far away. As such, we had to establish some very clear glasses rules-keep them in your backpack during PE, recess, etc, don't let others try them on, put the on the counter when you get home, etc. So far, she is doing great and loving how special it is to have glasses!
