It's official: Karianna has her own room. And Sara has her own room. The boys-not so lucky, but the girls scored! Sara has been keeping Karianna awake more often than not and waking her up way too early. We decided to move Karianna into the office to give them each their own space. We started the process the 2nd week of July, but it was very slow going; we got the closets cleaned out and switched over, but we hit a stalemate and just left it for a while.
Two days ago we got a bit kick in the pants: we had a potential buyer for the treadmill. That gave us the motivation we needed to pull the treadmill out of the office, which naturally cleared a space for Karianna's bed. We got that moved and got a surprise phone call from Jared's parents: someone in their ward had a great bed frame they were giving away. We accepted and it was delivered that night. The bed frame is awesome-really solid wood with a headboard and footboard, and 2 storage drawers underneath for storage! It will be perfect for Sara when we move her to a bed in the next month or so. WE got that moved into Sara's room at 10pm last night-no mattress yet, but that shouldn't be too far down the road. With all the moving that happened, Karianna slept in her new room on her own and so did Sara; the switch was complete.
We still have a ton to do. I need to clear all the office stuff out of Karianna's room and do some decorating. Sara's room needs to be gutted a little bit from Karianna-damage, and she needs some decorating to. The goal is to get all that done before school starts. I am a bit sad that the girls don't get to have those bonding conversations in the morning. Karianna tends to teach Sara how to say words before we get them up, and its cute to eavsdrop on the discussion. Thankfully, Karianna is so devoted to watching and playing with Sara during the day, I am sure they will keep their friendship going strong.
