A Well-Deserved Win!

Karianna got a sweet little surprise in the mail today, which really brightened her day (especially considering she is sick and in retrospect-would end up throwing up upwards of 15 times later that night).

A few weeks before Winter Break, Karianna entered a magazine cover contest put out by the Arizona Geographic Association. She was required to create a magazine cover along the theme of "The Power of Maps".  Her cover was very well-drawn, as she has always been a good artist, very colorful, and referenced several different types of maps.  I thought it was great, but truth be told-I forgot about it and didn't think of it until we got a letter from the Association.  Karianna was legitimately shocked when she opened it and saw she had won 1st place in the 6th-8th grade category!!!!!!

How cool that her talents and creativity were recognized in such a manner!  She won a 50 dollar Wells Fargo card, 2 tickets to the Phoenix Zoo, 2 tickets to the AZ Science Center, 2 gift cards to Chipotle, and few other little things.  She was overwhelmed with the prize package, and again, just so surprised.

Karianna is such a talented young lady, and we are so proud of her many accomplishments-and moreso-how much effort she gives to absolutely everything she does.  Congratulations Karianna!
