Trick or Treat!

Trick-or-Treating in San Tan Valley was a weird experience.  We started in our neighborhood at a REALLY respectable time of 6:30pm.  We looped around the cul-da-sac street behind us and back around to our house for starters...Only about a third of the houses were giving candy, and we counted maybe 10 other kids trick-or-treating and that was it.  It was so, so sad. So we all got in the car and drove to another neighborhood.  Better-more kids, more houses, including some awesome decorations....but still.  Not like I was expecting in an area with so many families.  We ended up staying out for a few hours so the kids could go up to as many houses as possible, and called it a night.  We had great fun, but honestly, the candy part was a downer compared to our after party.  :)  We watched the extended cut of Thriller and everyone was up and dancing to it-it was awesome!  We sorted candy, traded, ate ice cream cones, and just enjoyed each other.  I would have done that all night and nixed the trick-or-treating, honestly.  ;)

Sara's elevated make up-she decided to try being a tiger instead of a cat.

I cannot believe Karianna lasted the whole night in those shoes!!!

 Best picture of the night!!!!!!

Sara's Halloween Party

I was lucky enough to help out with Sara's class Halloween party this morning!  I love that their school allows the kids to dress up in their costumes and that they have a Costume parade as well. I think it is such a fun tradition!  Sara's little class party was adorable-I really like her teacher and how she runs her classroom.  You would never know Sara is the youngest in her class-she is so capable, taller than about half the kids, and so confident in herself.  Fun morning!

I ran the orange station, where the kids used sharpies to turn an orange into a pumpkin.

I Celebrate Too!

Look, i dressed up for Halloween!  I love Nightmare Before Christmas, especially after going through the Haunted Mansion at Disney this month--perfect attire for helping out at Sara's class party!

Randoms

Jackson was overjoyed to come home today from church with a Halloween cookie.  I mean-seriously.  You cannot get any more excited than this.

Karianna spends ALL of her time these days perfecting her hand stands.  Not normal handstands-fancy ones that she just holds for such a long time.  I'm so impressed with her!

Ward Halloween Party

It's unfortunate that Jared has to work tonight, but off we went to the ward Halloween party anyway!  I even bought two bags of candy to pass out during the trunk or treat-how festive am I?  I figured I'd use the leftovers to pass out on Halloween. Yea, right.  All of my candy was gone in about 10 minutes of trunk-or-treating.  So I closed down my car and walked around with Jackson--he was so adorable running up to every car in his skeleton costume yelling out "Trick or Treat!"  Costumes this year were pretty great, in my opinion!

Karianna as a flapper-you can't tell super well, but her hair looked awesome!
 Sara as a black cat.

Jackson as a skeleton (this costume has been used so many times!)

 Jordan as Darth Vadar.

JD as Luke Skywalker (I think?  Oh, I just don't know this Star Wars stuff).

James as a pilot-I love this costume!

They did not want to take pictures any longer-let me go eat!!!!

Halloween Pumpkins

We usually make pumpkin faces with these Potato Head pegs.  However, my stash has been depleted over the years with broken pieces and its hard to find the pegs these days.  So we tried something new this year: painting pumpkins.  I found cute little kits at Target with foam pieces, and they were so fun!  James and Jackson went first during the day and the other kids followed intermittently through the day.....I don't think i have pics of the girls though!  I'll double check the phone to see, but here's what I got so far!
